- Medical Insurance
Dynavax Technologies offers multiple medical plan alternatives to best meet diverse needs, including a Health Maintenance Organization (HMO), Preferred Provider Organization (PPO), and a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP/HSA). These plans offer a full range of medical services, including non-traditional treatments such as chiropractic care. All our health plans include a discount mail order program for prescription drugs.
Our generous dental plan covers 3 cleanings per year, as well as most preventive, restorative and major dental procedures, including orthodontia for children through age 26.
Vision coverage allows for annual eye exams and the purchase of lenses or contacts every 12 months and frames every 24 months.
- Disability Insurance
A company-paid benefit that ensures employees are paid while not able to work due to illness or injury. Employees that qualify are eligible to receive up to 66.67% of their monthly salary (after satisfying a 7 day waiting period) up to a maximum benefit of $1,104, for up to 26 weeks.

Dynavax Technologies offers an array of benefits and wellness initiatives to promote the well-being of our employees and their families. Our annual wellness fairs provide biometric screenings, flu-shots, chair massage as well as health education opportunities to help achieve and maintain optimal health.
- Retirement Savings Plan 401(k)
Dynavax Technologies’ 401(k) retirement plan provides our employees a tax-deferred way to save for their futures. With a variety of funds to choose from, employees are eligible to defer up to the annual IRS maximum and for employees age 50 or older, additional catch up contributions are available. Dynavax offers an employer match contribution of up to $2,000 annually with a minimum 2% plan participation and satisfaction of 6 months employment for 100% vesting.
- Employee Stock Purchase Plan
Employees may elect to participate in the purchase of Dynavax Technologies (NASDAQ: DVAX) common stock at a discounted rate by contributing 1 to 10% of earnings (after tax deductions) through payroll deductions. Open Enrollment occurs every February and August.

Work/Life Balance Benefits
- Personal Time Off
Dynavax Technologies provides employees with personal time off (PTO) each year for sickness and personal needs as well as for periods of rest, recreation, change of environment and release from everyday activities. New employees with the company are eligible for 20 days of Personal Time Off in their first year of employment.
Dynavax Technologies observes 12 paid holidays per calendar year. Some holidays are fixed every year, but others are assigned to provide the greatest number of holidays in conjunction with weekends. Dynavax is closed on the holidays.
- Public Transportation Benefits
Dynavax Technologies encourages the use of public transit by giving employees the opportunity to purchase Commuter Checks through payroll deductions on a pre-tax basis.
